How renting works
- Pick your gear: Choose a pre-built party package or rent individual items a-la-carte. Not sure? Tell us your venue, headcount, and duration and we'll recommend the right setup.
- Confirm on WhatsApp: Message us to lock in dates, pickup time, and any add-ons (DJ, sound engineer, delivery, lights). We confirm availability and send the exact Quarry Bay pickup address.
- Pick up in Quarry Bay: Swing by Quarry Bay (2 min from MTR). Everything is charged, cables included, and packed on trolleys. We help you load it into a GoGoVan / Lalamove (best for bigger packages) or an Uber / taxi (works for smaller setups).
- Party & drop off: Set up in minutes (DIY-friendly, we're on WhatsApp if you get stuck). After the party, drop the gear back at Quarry Bay by the agreed time. Easy.

- How do I pay for renting the equipment?
- FPS or Cash! We accept both FPS & Cash for maximum convenience!
- Where do I pick up and drop off the equipment?
- Quarry Bay, Hong Kong Island (a 2-minute walk from MTR Quarry Bay station). Once you confirm your booking on WhatsApp or Instagram, we'll send you the exact pickup & drop-off address. Pickup and return are by appointment, typically between 9am and 9pm. Most rentals are self-serve: you grab the gear, we help you load it onto the trolleys, and you're off.
- Which package suits me the most?
- Excellent question! As seasoned party organizers and goers, we can recommend the best package for your event. Just tell us the venue, number of guests, and duration - we'll suggest the perfect setup!
- Is all the equipment fully charged when I pickup?
- Yes! Everything from the speakers to the batteries is fully charged when you pick it up from us, so you don't need to worry about it!
- Do I need to bring any additional cables or wires?
- No! We provide everything you need to connect the speakers to the DJ controller. If you plan to connect extra gear, please bring your own cables.
- Can I rent out individual equipment?
- Yep! Yes, you can rent individual pieces of equipment based on your needs. Contact us via WhatsApp or Instagram to check their availability.
- Can I also hire a DJ or sound engineer?
- Yes! Most rentals are self-serve, but DJ and sound engineer / setup are provided in-house — we bring the people. A standard ~3–4h DJ set is from ~HK$4,000, and a standard setup tech session is from ~HK$4,000 (engineer labour only — transport is a separate add-on). For extended hours, complex PA, or multiple DJs/techs, DM us for a quote.
- Can I use the Mackie DRM315 pair on a junk boat?
- Only if your junk boat or charter has enough AC power capacity for the stereo pair. The Mackie pair is mains-powered (not battery), HK$1,000 each. Prefer Soundboks for boats without reliable power. Always check with your charter operator before booking powered PA.
- Will any of the packages fit into a normal sized taxi?
- Yes! For easier transport, we recommend using a larger Uber or Lalamove. With these larger cars, you can simply slide the trolleys into the back and get to your destination with little to no effort. If you do decide to take a regular taxi, you will need to load and unload the equipment from the trolley, fold the trolley, and then repeat the process once you reach your destination. For bigger packages (e.g. the Party Set with multiple speakers + DJ table) a Lalamove van is the safer bet.
- What if I'm not a DJ, can I still rent this gear?
- Yes, of course! Our speaker rentals are perfect for any occasion, and all you need is a phone to play music. So next time you go camping, have a party, or host an event, you can have the best quality speakers around.
- What if I don't know how to wire things up?
- You don't need to worry! All our gear is DIY-friendly and we'll talk you through setup over WhatsApp if you get stuck. Most customers set everything up themselves in minutes. If you'd rather we handle it, we provide a sound engineer / setup tech in-house — from ~HK$4,000 for a single tech on a standard session (engineer labour only; transport is a separate add-on). - Can you also provide the Pioneer XDJ-XZ in the Party set instead?
- Yes! We can definitely offer you the Pioneer XDJ-XZ instead for an adjusted price, but it's not as portable as the Denon DJ Prime Go, and you'll need to connect it to a Nitecore NES500 power bank, which will reduce your overall party time. You can still get around 6+ hours of runtime with the Pioneer XDJ-XZ, though.
- What happens if equipment gets damaged?
- Please handle all equipment with care! If any item is damaged, lost, or stolen during your rental period, you'll be responsible for the replacement cost. This is calculated at 1.8× the retail price of the item to cover shipping, import fees, and loss of rental income while we source a replacement. We recommend keeping equipment away from water, sand, and excessive heat. A security deposit may be required for high-value rentals.
- Is this a self-serve rental? Do I pick up the gear myself?
- Yes! PartyRental HK is mostly self-serve. You pick up and drop off the gear yourself from Quarry Bay (near MTR). We provide trolleys and bags so you can roll it into a GoGoVan / Lalamove for bigger loads, or an Uber / taxi for smaller packages. Setup is DIY-friendly and we're on WhatsApp if you need help. If you'd rather hands-off, we also provide paid delivery, a sound engineer, and DJ hire in-house — we bring the labour and transport the gear. DM us for details.
- How long is the rental period? When do I return the gear?
- A standard booking is per event (around 24 hours). Pickup is typically from the morning of your event and drop-off the next day, by an agreed time. Multi-day rentals are available on request, just message us on WhatsApp with your dates and we'll sort it out.
- Can you deliver the equipment instead of me picking it up?
- Yes, delivery / transport assist is available on request as a paid add-on. Indicative pricing starts around HK$1,600-2,400 depending on location, distance, and stairs/access. Message us on WhatsApp with your venue and we'll give you a quote.
- Can I hire a sound engineer to set up and run the gear?
- Yes. We provide a sound engineer / setup tech in-house — wire up, tune the PA, and stay through your event if needed. A single tech on a standard session is from ~HK$4,000 (engineer labour only — transport / delivery is a separate add-on, DM us to include it). For extended hours, complex PA, or multiple techs, DM us on WhatsApp with your hours and setup for a firm quote.
- Do you offer lights, fog machines, or other pro extras?
- Yes! Lights, fog machines, lasers, and other pro add-ons are available as extras on top of any package or a-la-carte rental. They're priced separately because most beach and junk parties don't need them. Message us on WhatsApp with what you have in mind and we'll build a custom add-on list for you.
- Should I pick a package or rent gear a-la-carte?
- Packages are the easy button: pre-curated bundles with stands, trolleys, table, and cables included at a discount. A-la-carte is best when you only need one or two specific items (e.g. just a Soundboks pair). Anything in a package can also be rented individually, and we can customise a package to fit your event. Lights, pro staffing (DJ / sound engineer), and delivery are always billed as add-ons.
- I'm renting for a junk / boat — any power considerations?
- Yes! For boats without shore power or a generator, we strongly recommend our battery-powered gear (Soundboks speakers, Minirig, battery-backed DJ setups) — it just works. Gear that needs AC mains power requires the boat to confirm it can supply power for the whole event, so please check with the charter first. Tell us your boat and we'll suggest the safest setup.
